PERSONAL OPINION

This news is a clear example of how growing globalization directly affects the decisions of countries.  Even though the Sonora Project is an idea proposed and carried out by the Mexican government and that will mainly benefit the population of this territory, there are other States that are interested in being involved.  Especially in this case, I think that the United States is a country with which Mexico is closely involved, it even has an important agreement such as the T-MEC, so its decisions, no matter how much it is a national project, they must be attached to the considerations that maintain this relationship with the United States.

Now, I believe that this project has a lot of potential to make the country grow economically and especially the state of Sonora, it is a way to promote innovation, bet on renewable energies, generate jobs and I think it can be a great bet for the future.  I have even seen some notes that claim that this could lead to the creation of clusters in the area.  In the last paragraphs of the news, they point out that there will be compensation for the population and I believe that it is important that with all the benefits that this project can bring, there is a large population that could be affected by the seizure of territory or the industrialization and these people must be compensated.

This talk will be behind closed doors, so it is clear that the issues to be discussed are delicate and the way in which the negotiation will turn out will hopefully be to the benefit of both countries.
