Sonora goes from extreme drought to floods
POST 4- NEWS
The news talks about how, derived from the heavy rains in the north of the country, Sonora in just two months, went from a crisis due to severe and extreme drought, to suffering floods that have forced the dams.
In the face of the North American monsoon, which left extraordinary rains in recent weeks, the authorities have activated declarations of emergency and disaster to assist thousands of affected families. According to the Drought Monitor in Mexico, published every 15 days by the National Water Commission (Conagua), as of June 15 in Sonora there were 29 municipalities in severe drought (D2), and 43 municipalities in extreme drought (D3).
My opinion:
Nowadays, I believe that climate change is a very popular topic today, due to the mistreatment that has been given to the earth we have caused extreme changes, which potential impact is enormous, with predictions of lack of drinking water, great changes in the conditions for food production and an increase in mortality rates due to floods, storms, droughts and heat waves. All this affects not only as citizens, but at an economic level it represents an instability in crops, affectations in the industry and even in logistics.
