Nuevo Vallarta Airport Eliminates Multiple Immigration Format (FMM)
POST 5- NEWS
The piece of news talks about the Nuevo Vallarta International Airport deciding to eliminate the Multiple Migratory Format (FMM) as a part of a strategy implemented by the National Migration Institute (INM), which will benefit all international tourists reducing the time of entry, avoiding a procedure that occupied considerable time for visitors from other countries.
According to the Nuevo Vallarta Tourism Trust, with this program, tourists arriving in Vallarta will no longer have to present this printed or digital format; managing to stamp their passports through a more agile process, to pass the immigration filter in just 10 minutes on average; however, gradually the times will decrease.
It is worth mentioning that Nuevo Vallarta has received an average of 1,106,550 passengers from international markets so far this year. This format collects the data of each person who enters Mexican territory, such as their full name, passport number, address where they will stay and the reason for their trip. Now, visitors from the United States and Canada will only have to show their passport, and Customs officers will take some information, stamp it and automatically grant permission to stay in the country.
My opinion:
Today, the turnover of tourism equals or even exceeds that of exports of oil, food products or automobiles. I believe that tourism has become one of the main players in international trade, and at the same time represents one of the main sources of income for many developing countries, so it is essential to help and facilitate this in one of the most touristic places in the country.
