Foreigners invest in the real estate industry in Mazatlan

The news is about the investments in Mazatlán belonging to foreigners by 25 or 30 percent, where sales for vacation rentals stand out, said Roberto Carlos Arellano Osorio. The president of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals of Mazatlán stated that from November to March many Americans and Canadians spend an important time in Mazatlán, in which the real estate market moves a lot.

He explained that on the subject of investment, Mazatlan is between 8th and 10th place at the national level. There is an estimated figure of 3,500 to 5,000 in inventories. Mazatlan needs to improve its infrastructure in order to attract more real estate investment.


Arellano Osorio commented that it is necessary to improve the roads, as well as the water and drainage services in the destination in order to cover the demand that is generated, for this reason there will be a rapprochement with both the state government and the federal government.

My opinion:

I consider that Foreign Investment has been consolidated as a complementary source of resources to finance the economic growth of our country. In addition, foreign investment represents a source of job creation and technology transfer and I believe that one of the Government's objectives should be to maintain the country as one of the main destinations for foreign investment for the benefit of the productive sector.
